Chevrolet Jumbo Captures 85% of Medium Truck Sales in Egypt Over 4 Months
Chevrolet Dominates the Medium Truck Segment
The Chevrolet Jumbo has taken a commanding lead in Egypt's medium-duty truck market during the first four months of the year, capturing an 85% market share. According to official data, the brand sold 1,861 units out of a total segment volume of 2,199 vehicles between January and April 2026. This strong performance underscores Chevrolet's established position in the light-to-medium commercial truck segment, which continues to see growing demand from logistics and transportation sectors across the Egyptian market.
Competitors Trail Behind
Mitsubishi secured second place with a 13% market share, selling 280 trucks over the same period. GMC ranked third with a 2% share, totaling 46 vehicles sold, while Hyundai recorded just one unit sold. The data reveals a highly concentrated market where Chevrolet dominates, while rivals focus on other segments or maintain a limited presence in this specific category.
Why Medium Trucks Matter in Egypt
The Light Medium truck segment is a critical pillar of Egypt's commercial transport industry, widely used for urban distribution and intercity cargo movement. These vehicles offer a balance of maneuverability in narrow streets and adequate payload capacity, making them a popular choice among small and medium business owners. The Chevrolet Jumbo's strong sales performance indicates that customers value durability, parts availability, and after-sales service—key factors in purchasing decisions within the local market. As demand for efficient transport solutions continues to rise, Chevrolet is well-positioned to maintain its leadership in this segment in the coming months.
