The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) has released official data revealing Chevrolet's sales performance in the Egyptian market during the first four months of this year. The American automaker recorded total sales of 2,362 vehicles, a figure that reflects sustained demand for its lineup despite shifting market conditions. The results are based on vehicle assembly and registration data, showing a clear dominance of one model over the rest of the range.

Optra Leads Chevrolet Sales in Egypt

The Chevrolet Optra secured the top spot as the brand's best-selling model for the period from January to April. The Optra recorded 2,031 units sold, representing approximately 86% of Chevrolet's total sales. This high share underscores the Optra's position as a key model in Chevrolet's lineup, continuing to offer a blend of reliability and value for the Egyptian driver. The model's strong performance also reflects ongoing customer confidence in this family sedan, which competes fiercely in the compact sedan segment.

Captiva, Spark EV, and Captiva EV Follow

In second place, the Chevrolet Captiva recorded 218 units sold, accounting for 9.2% of total brand sales. The Captiva excels in the family crossover category, catering to families seeking space and comfort. Third place went to the Chevrolet Spark EV with 71 units, capturing a market share of 3.0%. The small electric model reflects Chevrolet's push toward sustainable mobility, though it still achieves modest numbers compared to traditional models. Finally, the Chevrolet Captiva EV ranked last with 42 units, holding a 1.8% share, indicating that demand for the electric variant remains limited at this stage.

The sales distribution among models clearly highlights the Optra's overwhelming dominance of Chevrolet's portfolio in Egypt, capturing the vast majority of sales. Meanwhile, the figures for the Spark EV and Captiva EV suggest that the Egyptian market is still in the early stages of electric vehicle adoption, despite government efforts to support this segment. The coming period is expected to bring shifts in Chevrolet's strategy in the Egyptian market, especially with increasing competition from Chinese and Korean brands offering diverse options at competitive prices.
