Chery tops Chinese car brands in Egypt with highest registrations in May

Chery has topped the list of Chinese car brands with the highest number of new vehicle registrations in Egypt during May 2026, according to the latest data from the Egyptian Motor Vehicle Compulsory Insurance Pool.

The total number of Chery vehicles registered last month reached 1,525 units across various trims and engine capacities, securing the Chinese brand the leading position among its competitors in the Egyptian market.

Arizo 5 leads Chery's lineup in Egypt

The Chery Arizo 5 sedan topped the brand's model range in registrations, recording 387 units alone, reaffirming its sustained popularity among buyers seeking an affordable compact sedan.

Chery's top ranking in new registrations reflects the continued demand for Chinese cars locally, driven by a diverse model lineup and competitive pricing with acceptable equipment levels compared to many other brands.

Specifications of the locally assembled Chery Arizo 5

The Arizo 5 is currently the most affordable car offered by Chery in the Egyptian market. It features a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine producing 114 horsepower and 141 Nm of torque.

The engine is paired with a CVT automatic transmission, and the average fuel consumption stands at approximately 7 liters per 100 kilometers according to official data.

The car comes with a range of safety features including an anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), electronic stability program (ESP), front airbags, and driver assistance systems.
