Cairo Traffic Gridlock Today: Heavy Congestion on Salah Salem, Ring Road, and Faisal – Autostrad Clear

Cairo and Giza witnessed severe traffic congestion this morning, with significant slowdowns across most major thoroughfares. Traffic authorities deployed extensive patrols to ensure public safety, facilitate vehicle movement, and guide drivers toward alternative routes. Despite these efforts, several key arteries experienced bumper-to-bumper conditions, while a few others remained surprisingly fluid.

Cairo Hotspots: Ring Road, Salah Salem, and Nile Corniche Under Siege

The Ring Road, Salah Salem Street, and Al-Thawra Axis heading toward Suez Road recorded the highest levels of gridlock, alongside the Nile Corniche, Hadayek Al-Qobba Bridge, and Al-Kahraba Bridge. Traffic police advised drivers heading to East Cairo to use alternative routes via Ramses and Al-Abbasiya, as severe slowdowns were reported in Heliopolis, Maadi, and Manyal.

High traffic volumes were also observed in Qasr Al-Aini, Downtown Cairo, and the Al-Azhar Tunnel, while Salah Salem Street witnessed extreme congestion and vehicle stacking. In a stark contrast, the Autostrad Axis enjoyed notably smooth traffic flow with no significant delays.

Giza Gridlock: Faisal and Saflaban Become Choke Points

In Giza, traffic density was concentrated in Agouza and Mohandessin due to increased vehicle loads on their main axes. Moderate congestion was recorded on the Pyramids and Shooting Club axes, while Saflaban, Faisal, Al-Tawabeq, Giza Square, Sudan Street, and Bayn Al-Sarayat turned into genuine choke points caused by severe vehicle stacking.

In 6th of October City, most areas experienced moderate traffic density, with one exception: the Central Axis, which witnessed high congestion levels, prompting traffic officers to intervene and manage the flow to ease pressure on this vital corridor.
