Cairo Traffic Announces 15-Night Full Closure of October Bridge's Baghous Exit
New Traffic Closure Above October Bridge
The Cairo Traffic Administration has announced a new road closure plan affecting a vital route in the capital. The decision involves the complete closure of the Baghous Bridge exit heading towards the Mohamesha Bridge, specifically at the interchange area above the Baghous Bridge within the 6th of October Bridge zone.
Reasons for Closure and Traffic Management
This measure comes as part of ongoing construction works aimed at upgrading and improving the efficiency of the 6th of October Bridge. To manage any expected traffic congestion and keep vehicles moving, traffic services will be deployed on-site, and drivers will be redirected to complete their routes toward the October Bridge during the construction period.
Nightly Closure Schedule for 15 Nights
The construction scope includes lifting the bridge's trusses and support pillars. The nightly closure will commence at 12:05 AM on Tuesday, June 2, and continue until 6:00 AM. This specific nighttime closure is scheduled to be repeated for 15 consecutive nights to complete the support lifting operations.
Safety Preparations and Traffic Guidelines
In this regard, Cairo Traffic confirmed full coordination with the project's executing companies to install all necessary traffic guidelines and technical assistance measures. The work zone will be fully equipped with clear signage indicating ongoing construction to ensure driver safety and facilitate smooth navigation.
