Cairo and Giza Traffic: Heavy Congestion on Gesr El Suez, October Bridge, and Fifth Settlement This Morning

Cairo and Giza axes witnessed scattered traffic congestion during the morning peak today, with traffic services deployed to ensure citizen safety, facilitate vehicle movement, and guide drivers to alternative routes. The most prominent congestion was concentrated in Gesr El Suez, Al Alf Masaken, the Fifth Settlement, and October Bridge.

Cairo Traffic: October Bridge and Ring Road Lead the Congestion

The Traffic Operations Room reported high traffic volumes on October Bridge in both directions, recommending the use of the ground-level road. Vehicle movement also slowed on the Ring Road for those coming from Maadi to Monib due to high congestion, extending to the Autostrad and Salah Salem for those coming from Al-Rahman Al-Rahim Mosque toward the Military College. In Nasr City, clear congestion appeared at Martyr Hisham Barakat Square, in front of Al Ahly Club, and Heliopolis.

Congestion increased on Gesr El Suez, Al Alf Masaken, Ain Shams. Ghammra up to Ramses and its intersection with El Galaa, and from the Citadel to Fustat. Vehicle movement slowed on the Autostrad from Monib to Basateen, as well as on the Nile Corniche in Maadi up to the Ring Road and Qasr El Aini Street for those coming from Maadi and Helwan toward Tahrir and Downtown. The Ring Road also recorded high congestion toward Katameya to the Middle Plateau, while the Marg Ring Road witnessed traffic jams for those coming from the Agricultural Road toward Al Salam Tunnel and inside the tunnel for those coming from the provinces to Cairo.

Fifth Settlement and Abbas Bridge: High Morning Congestion

In eastern Cairo, high congestion appeared on 90th Street in the Fifth Settlement for those coming from the Ring Road to Downtown, with similar congestion on Abbas Bridge and University Bridge toward Al Massaha Square. The General Traffic Department advises drivers to exercise caution and use alternative routes whenever possible, especially during morning peak hours that see increasing pressure on main axes.

Giza Traffic: Haram Street and 26th of July Corridor

In Giza, moving traffic congestion appeared on the governorate's streets, with high congestion on Haram Street due to construction work at its intersection with Mariouteya. Scattered congestion extended to Al Bahr Al Azaam and Nile Tourist axes, the Ring Road descent toward Upper Egypt, Warraq. Mariouteya, as well as Faisal Street in Al Tawabeq area, and Sudan Street up to Cairo University reaching Bulaq and Imbaba. The 26th of July Corridor recorded high congestion, adding pressure on main traffic axes in Giza.

The Traffic Operations Room confirms that traffic services are deployed on all axes to organize movement and guide drivers to alternative routes, urging compliance with instructions and cautious driving to avoid accidents and reduce travel time during peak hours.
