Morning Traffic Jams in Cairo and Giza: Heliopolis, Maadi, and Downtown Most Affected
Cairo and Giza governorates witnessed heavy traffic congestion this morning on most major axes, with significant slowdowns and gridlocks at several vital points. This coincided with the morning peak hours, amid an extensive deployment of traffic services to ensure citizen safety, facilitate vehicle movement, and guide drivers to suitable alternative routes.
Traffic Situation in Cairo
The Ring Road, Salah Salem Axis, Corniche El Nile, and Kobri El Qubba Gardens recorded the highest congestion levels with heavy traffic volumes and vehicle accumulations. Traffic authorities advised using alternative axes to the Ramses and Abbasia routes heading towards East Cairo areas, especially with severe slowdowns observed in Heliopolis (Misr El Gedida), Maadi, and Manyal districts. High traffic volumes were also reported in Qasr El Aini, Downtown Cairo, and Al Azhar Tunnel, while traffic flow on the Autostrad Axis was relatively stable.
Traffic Conditions in Giza and 6th of October City
In Giza Governorate, scattered traffic densities appeared in El Agouza and Mohandessin districts due to increased vehicle movement on their axes. Moderate congestion was recorded on the Haram and El Remaya axes, while significant vehicle gridlocks occurred on the Safa El Leban, Faisal, El Tawabek, Giza Square, Sudan, and Bein El Sarayat axes. In 6th of October City, most areas experienced moderate traffic congestion, except for the central axis which suffered from heavy traffic jams.
