Massive Lineup of Passenger Cars at Cairo Airport and Safaga Customs Auction
The Egyptian Government Services Authority has announced a new used car auction to be held on June 25, 2026. The public sale will feature a wide range of vehicles from Cairo Airport Customs and Safaga Port, as well as goods from Safaga and Aswan customs.
Key Vehicles in the Auction
The auction includes more than 18 vehicles, featuring brands such as Porsche, Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Audi, Cadillac, Hummer, Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep Cherokee, Ford, GMC, and Chevrolet. Japanese and Korean models are also well represented, including Toyota, Nissan, Mazda, Hyundai, Kia, Suzuki, Mitsubishi, Isuzu, Infiniti, and Geely.
Terms and Conditions Booklet
The supervisory committee clarified that some vehicles are eligible for licensing, while others are not, as detailed per lot in the terms booklet. Participants must purchase the booklet for EGP 400, available at the Government Services Authority headquarters in the Ministry of Finance Towers, extension of Ramses Street, Tower 2. The booklet fee is non-refundable even if no vehicle is won.
Auction Deposit and Payment Procedures
The authority set a deposit of EGP 50,000 to enter the auction. Winners must pay 30% of the lot value immediately upon winning, with the remaining balance due within 15 days from the auction date. Companies and institutions must provide a tax card or commercial registry, while individual participants only need a valid national ID card.
