Public Auction for Mazda, Nissan, and Mercedes Cars from Cairo Airport Customs This July
The General Authority for Government Services, affiliated with the Ministry of Finance, has announced a major public auction for a number of used car lots originating from abandoned, unclaimed, and confiscated vehicles at Cairo International Airport Customs. The auction will feature a diverse range of passenger cars, offering a unique opportunity for buyers to acquire vehicles at competitive prices through a formal bidding session scheduled for July.
Auction Date and Venue
The Central Sales Administration, overseeing the sale process, confirmed that the auction session will take place on Thursday, July 9, at 12:00 PM at the Giza Sports Club hall on Al-Bahr Al-Azam Street in Giza Governorate. This event is expected to attract individual buyers and companies alike, looking for well-maintained used cars from various global brands.
Vehicles Available in the Auction
The auction includes a selection of passenger cars from renowned brands such as Porsche, Mercedes, Chrysler, BMW, Mazda, Nissan, Kia, and Komodo. These vehicles span multiple segments, providing a wide range of choices for potential bidders, from compact models to luxury sedans and SUVs.
Participation Requirements and Deposit
The authority clarified that participation requires purchasing the terms and specifications booklet for EGP 400, available at the General Authority for Government Services headquarters in the Ministry of Finance towers, extending Ramses Street, Tower No. 2. A key condition is paying the insurance deposit of EGP 50,000 before the auction day to ensure bidder seriousness.
Payment Procedures and Inspection
The supervising committee emphasized that the sale is commission-free and that vehicle inspection is fundamental to the purchase process. The winning bidder must pay 30% of the deal value immediately after the session ends, with the remaining amount to be settled within no more than 15 days. Individuals may participate using a valid national ID card, while legal entities must present their tax card.
