BYD announced it has captured a market share exceeding 20% of Egypt's new energy vehicle (NEV) market within just 200 days of its official operations in the country. The company delivered over 2,000 vehicles to customers and conducted more than 2,500 test drives during this short period.
Stella Li's Visit to Oversee BYD's Egyptian Operations
On August 27, 2026, Stella Li, BYD's Executive Vice President, visited Egypt to review the brand's operations, sales network performance, and after-sales services. The tour covered several technology centers and service facilities across different areas.
The itinerary included the ManDream BYD Technology Center in Sheikh Zayed, another in Park Street, and the Nile Projects and Trade BYD Technology Center in Mall of Arabia. The visit also featured service centers on El-Moshir Axis and in Abu Rawash.
The visit reflects the executive management's commitment to the Egyptian market. Li reviewed ManDream's efforts in developing showrooms and service centers, alongside supporting customer experience and expanding the brand's footprint.
8 Electric and Hybrid Models Enter the Egyptian Market
BYD launched 8 electric and hybrid models in Egypt during its first 200 days, part of its strategy to expand its NEV portfolio and provide diverse options for customers. This model variety helped the brand attract a wide range of consumers.
The numbers show rapid growth for the Chinese automaker in a market where the electric vehicle sector is still taking shape. Delivering over 2,000 vehicles in such a short time places BYD in a strong position among competitors in this segment.
Official distributor ManDream continues to expand its sales and after-sales service network across Egypt. The focus on customer experience and post-purchase support forms a cornerstone of the brand's strategy to build trust among Egyptian consumers in electric vehicles.
Egypt's market is witnessing growing interest in new energy vehicles. BYD's share exceeding 20% signals that the shift toward electric mobility is gaining real momentum in the country.
