Egypt's Best-Selling Commercial Vehicle Brands in August
Egypt licensed 3,232 commercial vehicles in August 2026, a 5% decline from July. Chevrolet dominated with 2,261 units, far ahead of rivals. Toyota finished second with 194 vehicles and Nissan third with 108 units. Model year 2027 vehicles accounted for the bulk of registrations at 2,270 units.
The Egyptian Compulsory Vehicle Insurance pool released its August licensing data for commercial vehicles, showing 3,232 units registered — a drop of nearly 5% compared to July 2026 numbers. Chevrolet continues to dominate the segment by a massive margin.
Commercial Vehicle Sales by Model Year
Model year 2027 captured the largest share with 2,270 units licensed during August alone. Model 2023 barely registered with just 24 units, while 2024 models accounted for 42 units and 2025 models saw 135 units. The 2026 model year followed in second place with 761 vehicles.
The trend is unmistakable — buyers are flocking to the newest model years. Demand concentrates heavily in fresh production lines, reflecting growing confidence in modern commercial platforms despite their higher price tags. Older model years are fading fast from the monthly registration picture.
Top Commercial Vehicle Brands in August
Chevrolet topped the Egyptian commercial vehicle market in August with an impressive 2,261 units sold, a share that exceeds two-thirds of the entire segment. Toyota secured runner-up position with 194 vehicles, followed closely by Nissan in third place at 108 units. Mitsubishi ranked fourth with 67 registrations, while Suzuki rounded out the top five with 52 vehicles.
Comparison with July Performance
Chevrolet maintained its leadership in July as well, posting 2,425 commercial vehicle sales during that month. Mitsubishi finished second with 132 units and Toyota third with 130 vehicles in the same period. Mercedes took fourth in July with 86 units, while Nissan managed only 55 registrations for fifth place.
Mitsubishi's two-month swing is striking — from second place in July with 132 vehicles, the brand dropped to fourth in August with just 67 units. Toyota, by contrast, improved its ranking from third to second even though its sales actually decreased from 130 to 194 vehicles.
