New Factory in Sokhna to Produce 600 Equipped Ambulances Annually with German Standards

Egypt is taking a serious step toward localizing medical vehicle manufacturing with the opening of a specialized ambulance conversion factory in the Sokhna industrial zone. The facility, owned by Technovision for Industry and Trade, targets an annual production capacity of 600 fully equipped ambulances meeting international technical specifications. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inspected the operations during his tour of industrial projects under the Suez Canal Economic Zone.

$10 Million Investment in Ambulance Conversion

The new factory represents a $10 million investment spread across 1,500 square meters within the economic zone's jurisdiction. Monthly production capacity stands at 50 ambulances, a figure that promises to strengthen the healthcare system's fleet significantly. The project also creates around 60 direct job opportunities for local residents.

During the inspection tour, Madbouly reviewed several locally equipped ambulance models and received detailed briefings on the conversion stages. All conversion work operates under the supervision of the German company WAS, a specialist in ambulance fitting, ensuring strict compliance with global quality benchmarks. The Prime Minister emphasized that this project marks a crucial step toward localizing specialized medical vehicle production and enhancing local capacity to meet health sector demands.

Future Expansion Plans and Increased Production Goals

Technovision's ambitions extend beyond current capacity levels. The company plans to expand using an additional 8,000 square meters of land to boost production volumes further. Waleid Gamal El-Din, Chairperson of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, described the project as a scalable model of specialized manufacturing.

The strategic location inside the economic zone provides integrated infrastructure that attracts such precision industries. Egypt's market continuously requires upgrading its fleet of government and private ambulances. This factory positions the country among nations capable of equipping these vehicles locally instead of relying on complete imports. The annual output of 600 vehicles represents a qualitative addition to the national industry.

Ambulance rear-box conversion demands high engineering precision and fully integrated medical equipment. The supervising German company ensures the transfer of technical expertise to Egyptian workers throughout the various operational phases. Market demand for locally equipped ambulances remains strong across both public and private healthcare sectors. Full-capacity operation is expected to commence during the coming period.
