Alexandria and Dekheila Customs Auction Generates Nearly EGP 58 Million from Vehicle and Goods Sales
The relevant authorities have announced the results of the customs auction covering vehicles and goods from the Alexandria, Dekheila, Salloum, and Matrouh customs authorities. The auction session was held on June 29, 2026, at Giza Sporting Club on Al Bahr Al Aazam Street beneath Abbas Bridge in Giza. A total of 136 lots were offered, including used vehicles alongside a variety of stored abandoned and idle goods kept at customs facilities. The auction formed part of the ongoing process of disposing of stored assets through officially regulated public sales, attracting participants interested in purchasing both vehicles and miscellaneous customs goods.
Vehicle and Goods Auction Results
The auction concluded with the sale of only nine vehicle lots belonging to Alexandria Customs for a total value of EGP 5.048 million. In addition, 14 goods lots from Alexandria Customs were sold for EGP 52.327 million, while six goods lots belonging to Dekheila Customs were sold for a value approaching half a million pounds. A total of 107 lots were rejected during the auction session, meaning that a significant portion of the offered inventory did not receive acceptable bids.
Total Revenue and Clearance of Stored Goods
Overall, 29 lots consisting of used vehicles and various goods were successfully sold during the auction, generating total proceeds of EGP 57.922 million, equivalent to nearly EGP 58 million. The figures reflect the financial return achieved from the completed sales while also highlighting the number of lots that remained unsold following the bidding process.
The auction was organized as part of government directives aimed at eliminating idle and abandoned goods stored across Egyptian ports, customs warehouses, storage yards, and customs depots. The objective is to transform ports into transit gateways rather than long-term storage locations for goods and merchandise by continuously disposing of stored vehicles and cargo through public customs auctions conducted under the applicable procedures.
