30,000 Visitors and Sold-Out Inventory: Inside Egypt's First Green Friday Market
BrandIt Cairo hosted Egypt's first Green Friday Market at Al Masa Hotel in Nasr City, attracting over 30,000 visitors and 37 exhibiting brands. Most participating companies sold their entire used car inventory. The event featured financing offers from ADIB Egypt, Valu, and EG Bank with rates up to 10.5% and 5% cashback. Mobile documentation, EV charging, and test drives were available on-site.
Egypt's first Green Friday Market, organized by BrandIt Cairo at Al Masa Hotel in Nasr City on October 8-9, welcomed over 30,000 visitors and featured 37 exhibiting brands and destinations. The market moved. It combined new car and used car sales with financing, insurance, EV charging, and contract authentication all under one roof.
Sold-Out Inventory Signals Strong Demand
Used cars stole the show. Mohamed El-Saeidy, co-founder and CEO of BrandIt Cairo and head of EVs Electrify Egypt and Green Friday Market, confirmed that most participating companies sold their entire used car inventory during the event. Demand is outpacing supply in the Egyptian market. Supply couldn't keep up.
Financing Offers and On-Site Documentation
New financing programs took center stage. Haitham Abdel Moneim, head of assets at ADIB Egypt, revealed a cashback offer of up to 5% on car financing value, with procedures aimed at accelerating approvals and vehicle delivery. Valu, through its Valu Shift system, offered car financing at a fixed annual interest rate of 10.5%, with no down payment or mandatory insurance, and some plans without a resale ban under offer terms. Ahmed Murad, head of direct sales for car financing at EG Bank, said the bank provides solutions for electric vehicle installments, with approvals possible within 30 minutes. Banks are competing hard.
EV Charging Infrastructure and Market Readiness
On the sidelines, Ahmed Murad stressed the importance of growing charging infrastructure in parallel with the spread of electric cars. The event also brought together official companies, agents, authorized distributors, banks, financing firms, and EV charging companies. A mobile documentation vehicle from the Ministry of Justice was on-site to complete car purchase contract authentication procedures inside the venue. Smart service.
The first edition of Green Friday Market also featured test drives, financing offers, inspection and insurance services, EV charging solutions, and digital car-related applications. This integrated model could redefine the car buying experience in Egypt. But the real challenge lies in sustaining such events and expanding beyond Cairo. Early numbers are promising. 30,000 visitors at a debut event is no ordinary figure. The market needs more initiatives that bring all parties under one roof.
