Stellantis Commits to Egypt: 17 New Models by 2030 and Local Assembly Under Study
Stellantis has reaffirmed its commitment to the Egyptian market, positioning Egypt at the forefront of its growth plans for the Middle East and Africa region. This move is part of the group's ambitious 'FaSTLAne 2030' strategy, which aims to expand the regional presence of its brands and sharpen their competitive edge in emerging markets.
17 New Models Across Multiple Brands
The company announced plans to launch 17 new models in Egypt between 2027 and 2030, spanning several of its key brands, including Jeep, Citroën, Alfa Romeo, Opel, Peugeot, Fiat, and Leapmotor. The new lineup will cover a wide range of segments, including SUVs, sedans, and hatchbacks, offering diverse choices to meet varying customer needs.
Diverse Powertrain Options: From Gasoline to Electric and Hybrid
The planned models will feature a broad array of powertrains, including traditional gasoline engines, fully electric vehicles (BEVs), range-extended electric vehicles (REEVs), and hybrid systems. This diversified approach aims to cater to the evolving Egyptian market, which is gradually shifting toward sustainable mobility solutions while still retaining a strong demand for conventional internal combustion engines.
Strategic Partnerships Fueling Expansion
This new expansion is backed by a network of global strategic partnerships. Among them is the collaboration with Leapmotor through the LPMI joint venture for sales outside China, along with alliances with Dongfeng and Tata Motors, and a cooperation with JLR to develop selected models for the North American market. Stellantis stated that these partnerships will help deliver competitively priced new models to Egypt.
Local Manufacturing Under Evaluation
Beyond the product rollout, Stellantis is exploring opportunities to expand its industrial footprint in Egypt, including potential CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly projects. This step reflects the company's confidence in the Egyptian market and its growing role as a regional automotive hub. Simultaneously, Stellantis is developing and manufacturing 7 models entirely in-house, underscoring its continued investment in engineering, design, and production.
Samir Cherfan, Chief Operating Officer for Stellantis in the Middle East and Africa, stated that Egypt is one of the most important and promising markets for the group in the region. He reaffirmed the company's commitment to strengthening its presence through new product launches, long-term investments, and evaluating local manufacturing opportunities. With this plan, Stellantis aims to offer customers in Egypt a broader selection of vehicles, support the development of the local automotive industry, and solidify its market position in the years ahead.
