Soueast Secures Egypt's First Energy Efficiency Rating Card
Soueast has achieved an unprecedented milestone in the Egyptian market. The Chinese brand has secured the first energy efficiency and emissions rating card issued by the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality. This feat makes it the first car brand in Egypt to obtain this card for its vehicles.
Handover Ceremony and Key Details
The official number confirms the leadership. The card was handed over at the headquarters of the Egyptian Organization for Standardization and Quality, with Egyptian Minister of Industry Khaled Hashem in attendance. Mahmoud Jamil, CEO of Man East, the Soueast distributor in Egypt and part of the Mansour Group, received the card. The company emphasized that this step reflects its commitment to applying the highest standards of quality, safety, and energy efficiency.
Evaluation Standards Behind the New Card
European and Egyptian standards form the foundation. The card relies on Egyptian and European standard specifications for evaluating energy efficiency and emissions of new M1 category vehicles. This category includes unified criteria for assessing vehicle performance in terms of fuel efficiency, emissions, driving range, and overall vehicle performance. This standardization facilitates fair comparisons between different models.
How the Card Helps Buyers in Egypt
One piece of information changes everything. The card provides clear and unified information about vehicle performance, enabling buyers to easily compare different models and make more informed purchase decisions. It also helps determine methods for measuring energy consumption, efficiency, and emissions. The primary goal is to empower buyers to select vehicles that are more fuel-efficient and lower in emissions.
The benefits extend far beyond the individual purchase decision. Better choices mean fuel savings, reduced carbon emissions, and improved environmental and air quality in Egyptian cities. This direction aligns with global efforts to reduce emissions in the transport sector and positions Egypt among markets adopting clear energy efficiency standards. The new Egyptian experience opens the door for other brands.
