ROX Nears Local Assembly in Egypt Through Partnership with Elaraby Elsuweidi

The Egyptian automotive market is set to welcome a fresh investment in local manufacturing, as Elaraby Elsuweidi Investments (ESI) has announced the formation of a joint venture with Chinese brand ROX Motor under the name 'ROX ESI Egypt'. This move paves the way for a new phase of expansion for the Chinese brand within the country.

The announcement comes at a time when Egypt's automotive industry is witnessing growing interest from global companies, driven by the state's push to deepen local manufacturing, increase the percentage of locally sourced components, and transform Egypt into a regional hub for vehicle production and export to Middle Eastern and African markets.

ROX ESI Egypt: A New Company in the Egyptian Market

An official invitation sent by both companies to the media reveals plans for a signing ceremony and formal announcement of the establishment of 'ROX ESI Egypt', described as marking 'the beginning of a new chapter of innovation in Egypt'. The invitation further confirms that the new entity is a joint venture between Elaraby Elsuweidi Investments and the Chinese brand ROX, reflecting a long-term investment approach that goes beyond traditional import and distribution activities.

A Step Toward Local Manufacturing

Although neither company has officially disclosed details of production plans or target models, the formation of a joint venture between the two sides strengthens expectations that ROX vehicles will transition from import to local assembly or manufacturing in the near future. This aligns with the Egyptian government's efforts to support the automotive industry and encourage global companies to inject new industrial investments into the local market.

EAAF Complex Comes into Focus

The new partnership gains particular significance given its connection to the EAAF Automotive Complex, owned by Elaraby Elsuweidi Investments. The complex was previously announced as one of the largest industrial projects specializing in the automotive sector within Egypt.

ROX Models Available in the Egyptian Market

ROX Motor vehicles are currently present in the Egyptian market through local distributor Nour El Din El Sherif, who offers the Chinese brand's models, led by the ROX 01, in addition to the ROX Adamas. The ROX 01 is considered one of the most prominent SUVs the brand offers in the local market.
