The General Authority for Government Services, under the Ministry of Finance, is set to hold a public auction next Thursday, July 16, to sell a number of used private car lots from sources, abandoned, and neglected vehicles at the Port Said Maritime Customs. The auction aims to clear accumulated vehicles from customs yards and offer citizens and companies the chance to purchase cars at competitive prices.

Auction Session Details and Timing

The Central Sales Authority, overseeing the auction procedures, announced that the session will start at 12:00 PM at the Giza Sports Club hall on Al-Bahr Al-Azam Street, under Abbas Bridge in Giza Governorate. Participants must purchase the terms and conditions booklet for 400 Egyptian pounds, available at the General Authority for Government Services headquarters in the Ministry of Finance towers, extension of Ramses Street, Tower 2. The authority clarifies that the booklet fee is non-refundable, even if no lot is won.

Car Brands on Offer

The auction lots include cars from several global brands, such as Hyundai, Kia, Chevrolet, Mini Cooper, Mercedes, Toyota, and Skoda. The supervisory committee noted that the vehicles cover various makes, models, and trims, and the sale will proceed according to the conditions stated in the booklet.

Participation Requirements and Deposit

The authority set a deposit of 50,000 Egyptian pounds to enter the auction, and requires payment of 30% of the lot value immediately upon winning, with the remaining amount due within 15 days from the auction date. Regarding registration, the auction oversight committee stated that participants representing entities or companies must present their tax card or commercial register, while individual participants need only provide a valid national ID card.

This auction represents a valuable opportunity for consumers seeking used cars at reduced prices, especially given the rising costs of new vehicles in the Egyptian market. Prospective bidders are advised to review the terms and conditions booklet in advance and ensure their legal and financial readiness for a smooth purchasing experience.
