Nissan Wins 6 Awards at Egypt Car of the Year 2026 with Sunny, Qashqai, and Patrol Leading the Way
Nissan Egypt has secured six prestigious awards and honors at the Egypt Car of the Year Awards 2026, reaffirming the Japanese brand's leadership in the local market. This achievement highlights Nissan's strategy focused on enhancing product quality and delivering an integrated customer experience, which has propelled it to the forefront of Egypt's automotive sector over the past year.
Best-Selling Models and Category Leaders
Nissan Egypt claimed the top spot in market share for passenger cars in Egypt, while the Nissan Sunny retained its position as the best-selling sedan in the economy segment. Building on this consumer trust, the Nissan Qashqai won the award for Best Crossover SUV in its class, and the Nissan Patrol was named Best Luxury SUV, demonstrating Nissan's ability to meet the diverse expectations of car buyers.
Advanced Technology and Local Manufacturing Drive Success
This recognition was driven by strategic moves made by Nissan Egypt last year, including the launch of the Qashqai equipped with third-generation e-POWER technology and the introduction of an all-new Nissan Patrol in the local market. On the manufacturing front, Nissan won an Excellence Award for its prominent role in supporting local production and creating new markets across Africa for cars built at its Egyptian plant, whose exports have exceeded 25,000 vehicles. This underscores the plant's success as a fully owned manufacturing hub and a regional center for assembling and exporting passenger cars to African markets.
Leadership Recognition and Person of the Year Award
These accomplishments culminated in Engineer Mohamed Abdel Samad, Managing Director of Nissan Africa, receiving the Person of the Year award in recognition of his visionary leadership and contributions to driving the company's growth and expanding its operations regionally and locally. Commenting on this achievement, Engineer Mohamed Abdel Samad said: "We are proud that Nissan has received these prestigious awards, which reflect our customers' trust in our brand and reinforce our leading position in the Egyptian market with the largest passenger car market share for three consecutive years. This recognition is the result of a sustainable strategy based on innovation, quality, local manufacturing, expanding export operations, and close collaboration with our successful partners from distributors and suppliers."
