Nissan is preparing to expand the export of its locally manufactured "Magnite" model to international markets, as part of a broader strategy to boost local production and transform Egypt into a regional and global industrial hub. These plans come at a time when the Nissan plant in 6th of October City is witnessing unprecedented production performance.

First African Production of the Magnite

The Magnite is the first model to be produced in Africa at Nissan's 6th of October facility, making the Egyptian plant the second global production site for this vehicle. The company is heavily betting on this model for its export ambitions, especially as it complies with the stringent Euro 6 emission standards, qualifying it for entry into markets with stricter environmental regulations in the coming years.

High Local Content Boosts Competitiveness

The Nissan Magnite benefits from a high local content ratio of 55% since the start of production, one of the highest currently recorded among locally assembled passenger cars. This factor enhances the vehicle's competitiveness in foreign markets in terms of cost and quality, supporting the company's ability to deliver a product that meets consumer expectations across diverse markets.

The export expansion plans coincide with the strong performance of Nissan's plant in Egypt, which recorded its highest-ever production rates last year, with capacity utilization reaching approximately 96%. This figure confirms the plant's readiness to increase output and meet both domestic and international demand, bolstering the company's confidence in executing its export strategy.

Building a Long-Term Industrial Base

Through this project, Nissan aims to establish a long-term industrial base reliant on local manufacturing and export expansion, leveraging Egypt's strategic location and trade agreements with numerous markets. The Magnite holds strong potential in export markets thanks to its advanced technical specifications, high safety levels, and excellent fuel efficiency, along with full compliance with modern environmental requirements. These attributes are expected to boost its presence beyond the Egyptian market in the near future.
