Nissan Maintains Leadership in Local Assembly Car Sales in Egypt with 38.6% Market Share
Nissan has successfully retained its position as the market leader in locally assembled car sales in Egypt during the first five months of the current year. According to the latest report issued by the Automotive Market Information Council (AMIC), the Japanese brand captured a market share of 38.6% of all vehicles assembled within the country.
Sales Figures and Market Dominance
Between January and May of this year, Nissan recorded total sales of approximately 10,409 locally assembled vehicles. This figure underscores the sustained consumer demand for the company's models produced at Egyptian plants, reinforcing its status as the dominant player in the local assembly sector.
The Strategic Role of Local Assembly
This performance comes at a time when the local vehicle assembly sector in Egypt is witnessing increased attention from global manufacturers, as the government pushes to deepen domestic industrialization and reduce reliance on imports. Nissan stands out as one of the key investors in this field, owing to its partnership with El Nasr Automotive and its factory in the Alexandria Free Zone.
AMIC Report as a Market Benchmark
The AMIC report serves as the primary reference for analyzing the Egyptian automotive market, relied upon by dealers, investors, and analysts to assess seasonal trends and brand share developments. Nissan's leading data clearly highlights the strength of the local assembly strategy adopted by the Japanese automaker against its competitors.
Sustained Leadership Amid Challenges
Despite the economic headwinds facing the Egyptian car market—including currency fluctuations and rising production costs—Nissan has demonstrated its ability to maintain sales momentum. Market experts attribute the brand's success to a combination of competitive quality, an extensive service network, and vehicle offerings that align closely with the needs of Egyptian consumers.
