Nissan Egypt to Launch New Sentra Replacement and Export 25,000 Cars Annually
Nissan Egypt has announced ambitious plans to introduce a new model in the local market in the coming period, serving as a direct replacement for the Nissan Sentra. The announcement was made by Engineer Mohamed Abdel Samad, Managing Director of Nissan Egypt and Chairman of Nissan Africa, who clarified that the upcoming model is distinct from the Nissan Magnite, which the company is preparing to manufacture locally. This confirms that the new replacement will represent a significant leap in its segment.
Nissan Sunny's Strong Position and Export Performance
Speaking at the Al-Ahram Transport Vehicles Exhibition 2026, Abdel Samad emphasized that the Nissan Sunny continues to maintain its strong position as one of the most preferred cars among Egyptian consumers. He noted that the model is achieving outstanding performance in the local market, backed by the trust of a wide customer base and its significant presence in its competitive segment. Regarding exports, Abdel Samad revealed that Nissan currently exports approximately 25,000 vehicles annually from its Egyptian plant to various international markets. He confirmed that there are ambitious plans to increase export volumes in the coming phase, as part of the company's strategy to strengthen local manufacturing and support the state's efforts to localize the automotive industry.
Environmental Compliance and Industry Development
The executive revealed that the company is currently developing models that comply with Euro 6 European emission standards, reflecting Nissan's commitment to global environmental benchmarks. He stressed that this approach contributes to developing the local industrial base and enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian-made vehicles in regional and international markets. Abdel Samad emphasized that reaching a market size of one million cars annually in Egypt is a key factor in attracting more investments to the automotive sector and feeder industries. He highlighted the importance of establishing a production environment based on fair competition, while addressing irregular practices, most notably commercial fraud and tax evasion, to support the stability of the Egyptian car market and ensure its sustainable growth in the coming years.
