Minister of Industry: Commercial Vehicles Are a Priority in Egypt's 2030 Strategy, and the Transport Exhibition Is a Key Platform for Local Manufacturing

Engineer Khaled Hashem, Egypt's Minister of Industry, has affirmed that the automotive industry ranks among the top priority sectors within the Egyptian Industrial Strategy 2030. He highlighted its significant potential for attracting investments, transferring technology, deepening local manufacturing, developing feeder industries, and boosting exports, all of which contribute to enhancing the competitiveness of the national economy.

Opening of the Al-Ahram Transport Vehicles Exhibition 2026

The minister's remarks came during his participation in the opening of the third edition of the Al-Ahram Transport Vehicles Exhibition 2026, held under the patronage of the Prime Minister. The event was attended by Dr. Mohamed Farid, Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade; Dr. Mohamed Fayez Farahat, Chairman of the Board of Al-Ahram Foundation; journalist Hisham El-Zeiny, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Ahram Auto; along with several leaders from the Ministry of Industry and heads of participating automotive companies.

Inspection Tour and Test Drive

On the sidelines of the opening, the Minister of Industry toured the pavilions of participating local and international companies, reviewing the latest models and technological solutions dedicated to the transport and logistics services sector. He also conducted a test drive of one of the displayed vehicles, praising the advanced level of the products and what they reflect in terms of progress in local manufacturing and the increased percentage of local components.

Supporting Localization and Increasing Local Content

The minister stated that the Al-Ahram Transport Vehicles Exhibition represents an important platform to support state efforts in deepening and localizing local industry and increasing the percentage of local content in the commercial vehicle industry. He noted the exhibition's role in highlighting the latest technologies and smart solutions used in transport and logistics services, thereby enhancing the capabilities of the Egyptian market and keeping pace with the boom the sector is witnessing, supported by major national projects in infrastructure, roads, and logistics.

He added that the exhibition brings together an elite group of manufacturers, agents, investors, and local and international companies operating in the commercial vehicle sector. It provides a crucial opportunity to showcase the latest models and advanced solutions, as well as to introduce several new products to the Egyptian market for the first time.

Improving the Industrial Investment Climate

Hashem pointed out that the Ministry of Industry continues to implement a package of policies and procedures aimed at improving the industrial investment climate. This is achieved by simplifying procedures, facilitating investors' access to industrial services, providing equipped industrial land, and supporting expansion in production projects. He affirmed that the private sector is a key partner in achieving comprehensive and sustainable industrial development.
