Mansour Group has set a firm completion date for its MACK automotive plant in 6th of October City: the first quarter of 2027. The announcement came during a meeting between Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly and group officials, with the investment and industry ministers in attendance. The timeline is locked in.
MACK Plant Kicked Off in 2025
Construction on the Mansour Group facility began in 2025 and has progressed steadily since then. The plant relies on advanced, environmentally friendly technologies designed to support local car manufacturing and position the facility among the region's most important industrial sites. This isn't a last-minute decision.
Mohamed Mansour, chairman of the group, confirmed that the state provides genuine support for the automotive industry, noting tangible progress despite surrounding crises. He stressed that the plant will rank among the most important in the region and on the African continent once fully operational. The ambition is unmistakable.
Electric Vehicle Production at the Core
Production at the MACK plant centers on electric vehicles and their components, a strategic priority for the group in the coming years. The facility will create thousands of jobs for Egyptians while steadily increasing local EV output. The equation is straightforward: localize manufacturing and cut reliance on imports.
Mohamed Farid, minister of investment and foreign trade, said the state is keen to back investment in the automotive sector and provide all necessary support to complete the MACK project. Khaled Hashem, minister of industry, described expanding EV and component manufacturing as a top ministry priority, with a focus on localizing battery production as well. Government backing is firmly in place.
Ankush Arora, CEO of Mansour Automotive, and Oliver Duden, strategic advisor at Man Capital, also attended the meeting. The move comes as local EV manufacturing plans accelerate across Egypt, with several brands racing to offer electric models at prices suited to the market. Competition is heating up.
