Labor Minister Inspects Prometeon Tire Factory in Alexandria, Affirms Support for Localizing Tire Industry
Egypt's tire industry took center stage during an official visit to Alexandria. Prometeon Tire Egypt, a specialist in manufacturing tires for commercial, agricultural vehicles and heavy equipment, received Labor Minister Hassan Radad in a factory tour accompanied by Alexandria Governor Engineer Ayman Attia and a delegation of ministry leaders. The visit aligns with the state's broader push to support major industrial investments and localize strategic industries.
A Detailed Tour of Production Facilities
The minister inspected various manufacturing departments, testing laboratories, and production lines, along with a visit to the Research and Development center to view the latest tire manufacturing technologies. The delegation also reviewed the company's plans to transfer global technology to the Egyptian market, focusing on production expansion and export market growth.
The company aims to create new job opportunities for Egyptian talent. Prometeon relies on modern technologies to build tires for commercial vehicles, a segment witnessing steady demand growth both domestically and regionally.
Government Support for Industrial Investment
The minister reiterated that the Egyptian state, under President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi's directives, continues to offer various forms of support to investors by providing a stable and safe work environment that boosts industrial output and attracts more investment. He highlighted that the Ministry of Labor established a central unit to facilitate investor affairs, ensuring direct communication and quick resolution of any labor-related challenges, thereby stabilizing production and improving the investment climate.
Praise for Occupational Safety Standards
Adherence to occupational safety and health standards, alongside providing social protection for workers, directly impacts productivity and corporate competitiveness, the minister explained. He praised Prometeon's implementation of the Smart Working system, describing it as an administrative model that keeps pace with global advancements in factory management.
The factory represents a valuable addition to Egypt's automotive feeder industry, especially amid the state's ongoing efforts to raise the local component ratio in vehicle manufacturing.
