JMC Dealer Eyes Next-Generation Vigus Pickup and New Energy Trucks for the Egyptian Market
Egypt recently welcomed an official delegation from China's JMCG, led by the group's Chairman, Mr. Qiu Tianjiao. During the visit, the delegation held meetings with the local distributor, Transport Distribution Company, the distributor of JMC vehicles and trucks in Egypt. Discussions focused on the brand's future expansion plans, strengthening its presence in the Egyptian market, and exploring opportunities to broaden its local operations while meeting the needs of different customer segments.
Local Manufacturing Expansion and Third-Generation Vigus
The talks included plans for expanding the local manufacturing of JMC passenger vehicles and trucks in Egypt, alongside increasing the number of products assembled locally to satisfy growing market demand. The discussions also covered the introduction of the third-generation Vigus pickup, as part of the company's strategy to strengthen its lineup and enhance its position in Egypt's pickup and commercial vehicle segments.
Supply Chain Challenges and New Energy Truck Strategy
A major focus of the meetings was the local production of JMC trucks and the challenges affecting manufacturing operations, particularly those related to component supply chains amid changing conditions across the Middle East. Both sides reviewed possible solutions aimed at improving logistics efficiency and ensuring uninterrupted production through more resilient operational processes.
In addition, the company's local operations are seeking to introduce new energy trucks to the Egyptian market in response to increasing demand for this vehicle category. The plan includes the launch of EV Touring models, reflecting the company's intention to expand its commercial vehicle portfolio with new energy solutions while supporting evolving market requirements.
