Engineer Khaled Hashem, Minister of Industry, confirmed that the government does not intend to impose any restrictions on vehicle imports, stressing that the country's industrial strategy is based on supporting a free-market economy and strengthening competition across the automotive sector to benefit both manufacturers and consumers.

The minister explained that regulating the automotive market does not mean closing it to imports. Instead, the objective is to organize market operations in a way that ensures consumers have access to a wide range of vehicle choices and alternatives.

He added that fair competition plays a key role in improving product quality and service standards. The ministry, he said, is implementing regulations that require agents and importers to provide after-sales services and spare parts availability, helping protect consumer rights and prevent practices that could harm the market.

According to the minister, the broader goal is to strike a balance between supporting local automotive manufacturing and maintaining an open market, while ensuring a stable and attractive investment environment for continued industry growth.
