Automobility, the official distributor and exclusive manufacturer of Geely vehicles in Egypt, welcomed a high-level delegation from Geely Global led by Mr. Alex Nan, General Manager of GAIC, a subsidiary of the Geely Group. The official visit aims to strengthen the strategic partnership between both parties and discuss the future of the brand in the Egyptian market, which is gaining increasing importance within Geely's global expansion strategy.

Strategic Talks on Industrial Expansion

During the visit, a series of extensive meetings were held between Mr. Alex Nan and Mr. Fahad Al-Ghanem, Chairman of the Board of Automobility. The discussions covered the exceptional results achieved by Geely in the Egyptian market, both in terms of sales and local production. The agenda also included plans to launch new models, such as the New Starray, New Cityray, and Monjaro, alongside other upcoming models, as well as expanding local manufacturing operations within Egypt.

Sales Growth Fuels Expansion Plans

This visit follows the strong performance recorded by the Chinese brand in the Egyptian market recently. The company achieved sales volumes in the first half of 2026 equivalent to the total sales of the entire year 2025. This remarkable performance reflects the brand's rapid growth and the increasing confidence of Egyptian customers in Geely cars, which offer modern designs and advanced technologies catering to various market segments.

Local Manufacturing as a Success Model

Both sides reviewed the notable success of locally manufacturing the Geely Coolray and Geely Emgrand models at the BAMIC factory. This project has become one of the most prominent successful local manufacturing models in Egypt's automotive sector, contributing to increased vehicle availability in the market and significantly enhancing their competitive edge.

Export Prospects to Regional Markets

The discussions were not limited to local market expansion but also included exploring opportunities to export cars manufactured in Egypt to several regional markets in Africa and the Middle East. Mr. Fahad Al-Ghanem expressed his satisfaction with the visit, emphasizing that the growth and success achieved in locally manufacturing the Coolray and Emgrand are just the beginning of a more ambitious phase. The next stage aims to increase production capacity and leverage Egypt's strategic location as a regional export hub.
