Geely Global Executives Visit Egypt to Discuss New Models and Local Manufacturing Expansion
Automobility, the official distributor and exclusive manufacturer of Geely vehicles in Egypt, welcomed a high-level delegation from the global automotive group led by Mr. Alex Nan, General Manager of GAIC, a subsidiary of Geely International. The official visit to Cairo focused on exploring ways to strengthen the brand's presence in the Egyptian market amid growing demand for its products.
Strategic Meetings with Company Leadership
A series of meetings were held with Fahad Al Ghanem, Chairman of the Board of Automobility, covering several key areas including the performance of the Geely brand in Egypt, plans to increase local production, the launch of new models, and opportunities for exporting to regional markets. These discussions are part of Geely's commitment to localizing its manufacturing and strengthening its foothold in one of the region's largest automotive markets.
Launch of New Models in the Egyptian Market
Both sides discussed the company's plans to introduce several new models to the Egyptian market, including the New Starray, New Cityray, and Monjaro, which represent a significant addition to Geely's lineup in Egypt. The exploration of additional models for the coming period was also on the agenda, aiming to expand the brand's reach across different price segments and attract a broader customer base.
Record Sales Performance
The company reported that Geely achieved sales volume in the first half of 2026 equivalent to its total sales for the entire year of 2025. This remarkable performance reflects the brand's rapid growth trajectory and increasing consumer demand, supported by improvements in product quality and after-sales services.
Success of Local Manufacturing at BAMIC Facility
The results of local manufacturing for the Geely Coolray and Geely Emgrand models at the BAMIC plant were reviewed. Officials confirmed that the initiative has helped increase vehicle availability in the market and strengthened the brand's competitive position. This local production represents a strategic step toward industrial localization and reducing reliance on imports.
Production Capacity Expansion and Egypt as a Regional Hub
The discussions covered plans to expand local manufacturing operations and increase production capacity to meet the rising demand for Geely vehicles. Automobility and Geely International also explored opportunities to export cars manufactured in Egypt to Middle Eastern and African markets, as part of a strategy to leverage Egypt's strategic location as a logistical and production hub to support future growth plans.
