Geely Explores Local Manufacturing in Egypt, Plans to Launch 12 New Models
Abou Ghaly Motors, the official distributor of Geely Galaxy NEV in Egypt, hosted a high-level delegation from Geely Global led by Alex Nan, Managing Director of GAIC. The strategic visit aimed to explore future cooperation prospects and study the feasibility of local vehicle manufacturing in the Egyptian market, alongside plans to introduce 12 new models in the coming period.
Strategic Visit to Strengthen Partnership
Engineer Mohamed Abou Ghaly, CEO of Abou Ghaly Motors Group, and Engineer Tamer Qutb, Vice Chairman of the Board, received the visiting delegation. Both sides discussed the results of launching Geely NEV vehicles in Egypt since May 2026, as well as the future vision for enhancing the brand's presence in the local market. This visit comes within the framework of the ongoing partnership between the two parties for over six years, which has witnessed notable growth in sales volume and service network expansion.
Egypt Among Geely's Strategic Markets
Alex Nan emphasized that the Egyptian market represents one of the most strategic markets for Geely in the Middle East and Africa region. He pointed out that the positive results achieved by Geely NEV vehicles since their launch have strengthened the company's confidence in growth opportunities within Egypt. He stated that the strong demand for new models reflects customer trust in the brand, confirming that the partnership with Abou Ghaly Motors is a cornerstone for supporting expansion plans and introducing Geely's latest technologies to the Egyptian market. He added that the robust performance during the initial months encourages the company to continue its investments and expand its partnership with the local distributor.
Local Manufacturing Plans and New Model Launches
Engineer Mohamed Abou Ghaly confirmed that the visit by Geely's global leadership reflects the parent company's interest in the Egyptian market and its strong confidence in the partnership. He explained that the upcoming phase will witness the launch of more Geely NEV models, in addition to agreeing to proceed with the executive steps for studying local vehicle manufacturing in Egypt. This step is part of a broader strategy aimed at strengthening the Chinese brand's presence in the promising Egyptian market, which is witnessing increasing demand for modern vehicles equipped with the latest technologies.
These developments come at a time when the Egyptian market is seeing growing interest from major global companies in localizing the automotive industry, especially given the government incentives offered for local car manufacturing. Through this move, Geely aims to enhance its competitive ability and offer more competitively priced products to Egyptian consumers, while benefiting from Egypt's advanced industrial infrastructure and skilled workforce.
