Geely Plans Expansion in Egypt with New Models and Local Manufacturing
Automobility, the official distributor and exclusive manufacturer of Geely vehicles in Egypt, has unveiled ambitious plans to expand its presence in the local market. The announcement followed a visit by Alex Nan, Managing Director of GAIC, a subsidiary of the global Geely Group, who held meetings with Fahad Al Ghanim, Chairman of Automobility, to review the brand's performance and explore growth opportunities.
Plans to Launch New Geely Models in Egypt
Both parties discussed the company's strategy to introduce several new models to the Egyptian market, including the New Starray, New Cityray, and Monjaro. They also considered offering additional models in the near future, aiming to broaden Geely's footprint across various segments and capitalize on the growing demand for Geely cars in Egypt.
Strong Sales Growth and Local Manufacturing Success
The company reported that Geely achieved sales volume in the first half of 2026 equivalent to its total sales for the entire year of 2025, reflecting the brand's rapid growth and rising popularity. The meetings also highlighted the successful local production of the Geely Coolray and Geely Emgrand at the BAMIC factory, which has increased vehicle supply in the market and boosted the brand's competitiveness.
Boosting Production and Export Ambitions
The discussions covered plans to expand local manufacturing operations and increase production capacity to meet rising demand for Geely vehicles. Both sides also explored leveraging Egypt's strategic location to support future growth and transform the local plant into a regional export hub. Automobility and Geely Global examined opportunities to export cars manufactured in Egypt to markets in the Middle East and Africa, strengthening Egypt's role as a regional gateway for the automotive industry.
