Geely and Abou Ghaly Motors Explore Local Assembly of NEVs in Egypt

Abou Ghaly Motors, the exclusive distributor of the Geely Galaxy NEV brand in Egypt, has announced official discussions with senior officials from Geely Global to explore expansion plans in the local market and study opportunities for local assembly of new energy vehicles. The move aligns with Egypt's national strategy to localise the automotive industry and boost domestic manufacturing.

Strategic Visit to Abou Ghaly Motors Headquarters

The announcement was made during the company's reception of Alex Nan, General Manager of GAIC, a subsidiary of Geely Global, in what was described as a strategic visit. The meeting included in-depth discussions on the brand's future in the Egyptian market and its expansion plans for the upcoming phase.

Strong Performance Since Launch Last May

The meeting was attended by Engineer Mohamed Abou Ghaly, CEO of Abou Ghaly Motors, and Engineer Tamer Qutb, Vice Chairman of the Board. Both parties reviewed the performance achieved by Geely NEV vehicles since their launch in the Egyptian market last May, in addition to discussing plans to introduce new models and strengthen the brand's presence across the country.

Alex Nan stated that the Egyptian market is one of the most strategic markets for Geely in the Middle East and Africa region. He emphasised that the partnership with Abou Ghaly Motors represents a key pillar for achieving sustainable growth, given the group's extensive experience in the automotive sector. He added that the positive results achieved by the brand in a short period reflect the strength of the Egyptian market and reinforce the company's confidence in continuing its investments through this partnership.

Future Plans for New Model Launches

For his part, Engineer Mohamed Abou Ghaly said that the visit of Geely Global officials reflects the parent company's interest in the Egyptian market and its confidence in the long-standing partnership with the group. He pointed out that the upcoming phase will witness the introduction of more Geely NEV models, alongside beginning the executive steps to study local vehicle assembly in Egypt in the near future.

Abou Ghaly explained that this direction supports the state's plans aimed at localising the automotive industry and increasing the volume of industrial investments, which contributes to raising the percentage of local components and enhancing the competitiveness of the national industry in regional and global markets.
