The El-Araby El-Sewedy Investments alliance has officially signed an agreement to become the authorized distributor for Jaecoo and Omoda in Egypt. The total investment reaches five billion Egyptian pounds, equivalent to one hundred million US dollars, a figure that signals strong confidence in the local automotive sector.

What This Partnership Means

This capital injection will directly support the Egyptian car industry, placing the move among the largest investments in the field in recent years. Both brands operate under China's Chery Group, a global player with a diverse portfolio targeting different markets and segments.

Local Manufacturing and Export Goals

The agreement goes beyond mere import operations. The focus is on localizing car production in Egypt and increasing the share of locally sourced components. Funds will be directed toward building production facilities that support the assembly of Jaecoo J7 and Omoda models, strengthening Egypt's position as a regional hub for manufacturing and future exports to neighboring markets and Africa.

Mohamed Saleh, CEO of the El-Araby El-Sewedy Investments Group, stated that this agreement marks a major milestone for the company. He emphasized the goal of turning Egypt into a regional automotive hub, noting that Jaecoo and Omoda are the fastest-growing Chinese brands in Europe.

The European success of these two brands isn't just a marketing label. It reflects product quality and competitiveness in some of the world's most demanding markets. This track record gives both sides extra confidence entering the Egyptian market, especially with growing government support for local vehicle manufacturing.

The new investment is also expected to create fresh job opportunities and open doors for collaboration with local suppliers. That cooperation could positively impact the entire industrial chain, as Chery benefits from Egyptian expertise in joint production setups.
