El Arab El Sewedy Signs Strategic Partnership with Chery to Import OMODA and JAECOO in Egypt
El Arab El Sewedy Investments (ESI) has officially announced the signing of a strategic partnership agreement with Chinese automaker Chery, making it the official distributor for the OMODA and JAECOO brands in the Egyptian market. This move is part of an ambitious plan to strengthen the presence of new energy vehicles in Egypt and expand operations in both local and regional markets.
Long-Term Strategic Partnership
The agreement is based on a joint plan between both parties to expand across regional markets starting from Egypt, leveraging the commercial, marketing, and manufacturing expertise of El Arab El Sewedy Group. This partnership aims to solidify Egypt's position as a regional hub for automotive manufacturing, trade, and smart transportation technology, boosting growth opportunities in the Egyptian auto sector.
Introducing the Latest Models in Egypt
Under the agreement, El Arab El Sewedy Group will introduce the latest OMODA and JAECOO models to the Egyptian market, providing after-sales services and original spare parts from the outset. The plan also includes gradual expansion through an integrated sales and service network to ensure an exceptional experience for Egyptian customers.
Notably, both Chery brands, OMODA and JAECOO, have surpassed one million units sold globally since their international launch in 2023, achieving this milestone in record time. They are now present in nearly 70 markets worldwide. OMODA focuses on modern crossover vehicles with bold designs and smart technologies targeting younger audiences, while JAECOO specializes in SUVs that combine luxury, practicality, and a spirit of adventure.
Chery: China's Largest Auto Exporter

It ranked 233rd on the Fortune Global 500 list in 2025, with operations spanning more than 100 countries worldwide. Both brands rely on the latest intelligent driving technologies and new energy solutions, including the Super Hybrid System (SHS) for hybrid vehicles.
