Egyptian Auto Industry Ready to Conquer Global Markets After Specs Upgrade, Manufacturers Association Says
Engineer Khaled Saad, Secretary General of the Egyptian Automotive Manufacturers Association, confirmed that Egyptian factories are now operating according to international technical specifications, making locally manufactured vehicles qualified to enter markets that previously refused some Egyptian-made vehicles, especially trucks and semi-trucks, due to failure to meet required standards.
Production Line Upgrades and International Compliance
During his interview on the "Arabity" program broadcast on Radio Egypt, Saad explained that the state is committed to localizing the automotive industry and enhancing the quality of local products to prepare them for export. This has prompted factories to upgrade their production lines and adhere to international standards in line with global market requirements. He noted that this transformation marks a turning point for the industry’s future, as Egyptian factories now have the capability to produce vehicles that meet global specifications, opening the door for increased exports and expansion into new markets in the coming period.
Egypt's Competitive Advantages in Automotive Manufacturing
The Secretary General highlighted that Egypt possesses numerous advantages supporting its export plans, most notably its strategic geographic location and network of trade agreements with various countries worldwide. These factors give Egyptian products a significant competitive edge and help transform Egypt into a regional hub for vehicle manufacturing and export. Egyptian factories are no longer limited to meeting local market demand but are now capable of competing strongly abroad, thanks to improved production quality and the implementation of the highest safety and quality standards.
