Egypt's Ministry of Industry Announces New Incentives to Support Automotive Component Manufacturers
Egypt's Ministry of Industry has announced the imminent launch of a new incentives package aimed at supporting the automotive component and feeder industries sector. The initiative is designed to bolster local production capabilities and alleviate the financial and technical burdens faced by manufacturers operating in this critical field.
Key Benefits of the New Incentives Package
Engineer Alaa Salah El-Din, head of the Automotive Unit at the Ministry of Industry, revealed during an interview on the radio program 'Arabity' that the new package includes dedicated support to reduce the cost of conducting technical tests abroad. This expense represents one of the most significant challenges for local component manufacturers, particularly small and medium-sized enterprises.
Training and Qualification Programs to Boost Competitiveness
Salah El-Din further explained that the incentives also encompass support for training and qualification programs for workers in the feeder industries sector. The goal is to enhance the efficiency of technical and administrative staff, which will directly improve the quality of locally produced components and strengthen the competitiveness of companies in both domestic and international markets.
The head of the Automotive Unit emphasized that the primary objective of these incentives is to empower companies operating in the feeder industries, thereby elevating the entire automotive components sector. This will ensure a steady supply of high-quality parts to assembly plants in Egypt, reducing reliance on imports and supporting the country's broader industrial strategy.
Salah El-Din confirmed that the implementation mechanisms are currently under review, with the package expected to be applied in the near future. The ministry is committed to removing any obstacles facing manufacturers and creating an attractive investment environment for the automotive and components industry in Egypt.
