Engineer Khaled Hashem, Egypt's Minister of Industry, announced a national strategy targeting $100 billion in Egyptian exports by 2030, built on an integrated industrial vision focused on boosting production and enhancing the competitiveness of local products.

The minister's remarks came during a special interview on the sidelines of the opening of the third edition of the Al-Ahram Transport Vehicles Exhibition 2026. He explained that the new strategy builds upon previous plans while accounting for current global shifts and economic challenges, ensuring more advanced results in the coming phase.

Hashem emphasized that the strategy rests on several key pillars, including human capital development, sustainability support, assistance for struggling projects, and the launch of diverse programs to back the industrial sector. He stressed that the state is working to create an attractive investment environment, strengthening Egypt's position as a regional industrial hub.

The minister further noted that the government aims to achieve tangible growth in industrial exports by increasing reliance on local manufacturing and deepening national industry, thereby enhancing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in global markets.
