The Egyptian government is broadening its support for the automotive sector through a series of programs and initiatives that go beyond the national program for developing the automotive industry. These efforts focus on expanding the use of electric vehicles, renewing transport fleets, and making car ownership easier for citizens. The measures are part of an integrated strategy aimed at stimulating the local market and increasing replacement and renewal rates.

Government Initiatives for Electric Vehicles and Fleet Replacement

Engineer Alaa Salah El-Din, head of the Automotive Industry Unit at the Ministry of Industry, revealed the most prominent initiatives supporting the sector during his interview with the 'Arabity' program on Egypt Radio. He pointed out that among these initiatives is a program to convert the government fleet from gasoline and diesel vehicles to electric cars, reflecting the state's direction toward clean and sustainable transportation. The initiatives also include a program to replace taxi vehicles, which aims to modernize public transport fleets and improve their efficiency.

Financing Facilities and Incentives for New Car Purchases

Salah El-Din added that the government is also implementing a program targeting citizens, which includes providing financing facilities and incentives to encourage the purchase of new cars, along with easing installment payments. These measures aim to reduce the financial burden on citizens and stimulate demand in the local car market, thereby supporting the national automotive industry and increasing replacement and renewal rates. These initiatives are part of a comprehensive vision to develop Egypt's automotive sector and enhance its competitiveness.

It is worth noting that the national program for developing the automotive industry was launched by the government to attract local and foreign investments, increase the local component in car manufacturing, and boost exports. With the addition of these new initiatives, the sector is expected to witness significant growth in the coming period, especially in the fields of electric vehicles and fleet renewal, which will positively impact the national economy and Egypt's transportation environment.
