Hussein Issa, Egypt's Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, continued his field tour to follow up on industrial projects by visiting Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company in Helwan. The plant, which is part of the Metallurgical Industries Holding Company, is considered one of the pillars of national industry. The visit aligns with the state's efforts to deepen local manufacturing and boost the industrial sector's contribution to the national economy.

Bus Factory Tour and Local Component Ratios

During the inspection of the bus factory, the Deputy PM reviewed various production stages and lines, including models of mass transit buses such as the Nasr Sky tourist buses, which feature a local component ratio of 63.5%, and the Nasr Star minibus, with a local component ratio exceeding 70%, in addition to the electric minibus. Officials briefed Issa on the production system, future expansion plans, and strategies to increase local manufacturing rates.

Inspection of the Passenger Car Factory

The tour also included the passenger car factory, which is among the most modern automotive plants in Egypt and the Middle East. Issa examined the production lines, advanced technologies used, and vehicle models produced. The factory is equipped with state-of-the-art machinery meeting the highest global technical standards, enabling the production of a diverse range of models for Nasr or other brands in partnership with local and foreign private sectors. This enhances the competitiveness of the Egyptian industry and supports localization efforts.

Customs Zone and Logistics Review

The Deputy PM also inspected the company's customs zone, reviewing the work system and logistics services that support the production process, improve operational efficiency, and accelerate completion rates. During the tour, Issa listened to a detailed presentation on infrastructure development efforts at the industrial complex, as well as rehabilitation and modernization work on production lines.

Future Plans for Electric Vehicle Production

The presentation covered the company's future plans to expand production of modern vehicles, including electric buses, in support of the state's direction toward sustainable transport, green transformation, and emission reduction in line with global environmental standards. The activation of partnership agreements with the private sector was also discussed to enhance manufacturing collaboration, reflecting the government's commitment to supporting national industry and increasing the competitiveness of Egyptian products in local and regional markets.
