Deputy Prime Minister Inspects Al-Nasr Automotive Company, Affirms State's Commitment to Localizing Industry

Dr. Hussein Issa, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, conducted a field visit to the Al-Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company in Helwan to inspect production lines and follow up on development and expansion efforts in local manufacturing. The tour aligns with the state's direction to deepen national industry, with participation from Engineer Mohamed El-Saadawi, Chairman of the Metallurgical Industries Holding Company, Dr. Nabil Hammad, CEO and Managing Director of Al-Nasr Automotive Manufacturing Company, and several company leaders.

Inspection of Bus and Minibus Factories

The visit covered the bus and minibus factories, where prominent models such as the 'Nasr Sky' with a local content ratio of 63.5% and the 'Nasr Star' with over 70% local content were reviewed, alongside the electric minibus. The Deputy Prime Minister also followed up on plans to increase local content ratios in the coming period, reflecting the government's commitment to boosting local manufacturing and supporting the national industry.

Passenger Car Plant: One of the Most Modern Facilities in the Middle East

The tour also included the passenger car (sedan) plant, which is considered one of the most modern car factories in Egypt and the Middle East. Officials inspected the production lines and modern technology, as well as the potential for producing cars in partnership with local and foreign sectors. The customs area and logistics services supporting production were also reviewed, enhancing the plant's ability to compete regionally and globally.

Plans for Electric Vehicle Expansion and FAW Partnership

Dr. Hussein Issa revealed ambitious plans to develop the industrial complex and rehabilitate production lines, with a focus on expanding electric vehicle production to support the shift toward sustainable transport and a green economy. He also highlighted the activation of a partnership with the FAW Group to produce cars under the 'Nasr' brand, opening new horizons for industrial cooperation and the transfer of modern technology to the Egyptian market.

A Strategic Priority for the State

The Deputy Prime Minister emphasized that developing Al-Nasr Company confirms the state's direction to revive industrial strongholds and maximize the utilization of productive assets. He pointed out that the automotive sector represents a strategic priority for increasing added value, creating job opportunities, and boosting exports. He added that the government continues to support the localization of industry and increase local content, along with expanding electric vehicles and modern technology, noting that workers are the cornerstone of the success of development plans. He affirmed that the state is moving forward in supporting industrial projects, enhancing investment partnerships, and transferring technology, which strengthens the competitiveness of Egyptian industry and supports sustainable development.
