Amid growing concerns over reports that several Chinese automakers have halted production in Egypt, Engineer Khaled Saad, Secretary General of the Egyptian Auto Manufacturers Association and agent of a Chinese brand, reassured car owners that spare parts and after-sales services remain fully available. Speaking during a radio interview, he addressed the worries of thousands of customers who own vehicles from Chinese brands that have recently ceased production by decision of their parent companies.

Parent Companies Committed to Spare Parts Supply

Khaled Saad explained that Chinese parent companies remain committed to manufacturing and supplying spare parts to meet customer needs, especially during the warranty period. He emphasized that this commitment applies to all Chinese brands that have stopped production in the Egyptian market, noting that manufacturing processes have not completely halted but continue to support maintenance and repair demand.

Vehicles Remain Efficient Despite Production Stop

Saad pointed out that many Chinese cars continue to operate efficiently in the Egyptian market even years after production ceased. He confirmed that spare parts are available through multiple channels, whether through authorized dealers or via direct import by distributors and traders. This means owners of older Chinese vehicles can rely on a broad distribution network that includes certified workshops and genuine spare parts.

Distributors and Traders Fill the Gap

The Secretary General stated that local distributors and traders play a vital role in securing spare parts for discontinued vehicles. They rely on direct imports from global markets, ensuring the availability of rare or hard-to-find components not offered by official agents. He added that the Egyptian market enjoys significant flexibility in this area, with various alternatives to suit different budgets.

Advice for Chinese Car Owners

Khaled Saad advised Chinese car owners to first contact authorized dealers for original spare parts, and if unavailable, to turn to specialized importers. He stressed that the Egyptian market includes many reliable suppliers capable of providing required components at competitive prices, ensuring vehicles continue to operate safely and efficiently.
