Chery Group Surpasses 20 Million Global Sales and Prepares LUXEED Launch Worldwide
Chery Group announced its cumulative global sales have exceeded 20 million vehicles after 29 years in the industry. The company exported 943,800 units in H1 2026, a 71.5% year-on-year increase. The luxury brand LUXEED is preparing for its global launch starting 2026, focusing on new energy vehicles and smart mobility.
Chery Group has announced that its total global sales have surpassed the 20 million vehicle mark. The historic milestone comes after 29 years of continuous presence and evolution in the automotive sector, marking the company's transformation from a domestic player to a global force.
Record-Breaking Export Numbers
Chery continues to strengthen its international footprint at an accelerating pace, exporting approximately 943,800 vehicles during the first half of 2026. That figure represents a year-on-year surge of 71.5% — a number that outpaced most analysts' expectations for the Chinese auto industry.
The exceptional performance didn't stop there. The group recorded monthly export records from China for four consecutive months, shipping a Chery vehicle overseas every 17 seconds. Products are now available in more than 130 countries and regions worldwide, reflecting a distribution network built to support ambitious expansion plans.
From One Million to Twenty Million
Chery's global journey began early, becoming the first Chinese car brand to exceed cumulative sales of one million vehicles back in 2007. The company then continued to hit successive milestones at two, three, and five million vehicles, ultimately reaching the 20-million mark today.
Recognition of this growth also came from the Fortune China 500 list for 2026, where Chery Automobile appeared for the first time as a listed company, ranking 87th. The group led the automotive sector in Return on Equity (ROE) — a financial metric that reflects management's efficiency in generating profits.
LUXEED Enters the Global Stage
LUXEED, the premium brand under Chery Group specializing in new energy luxury vehicles and smart mobility, is preparing to enter international markets. The brand targets the high-end new car segment, banking on advanced autonomous driving technologies and premium craftsmanship.
The expansion strategy follows a gradual region-by-region approach, with 2026 designated as the year of global launch. By 2027, LUXEED aims to establish a complete marketing and service ecosystem in key markets, eventually building comprehensive worldwide operational capabilities.
In early July 2026, LUXEED organized a global media test drive for its LUXEED R7 model at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The vehicle received wide acclaim for its technical and performance capabilities, helping to raise brand awareness in foreign markets and laying the groundwork for market entry and distribution channel development.
