BYD Opens New Technology Center in Alexandria, Expands Egypt Footprint
BYD has officially opened its latest technology center in Alexandria, located inside the New Downtown Mall. The move is part of a broader push to strengthen the Chinese brand's presence across Egypt's automotive market.
Strategic Location and Full-Service Offerings
This isn't BYD's first center. The company already operates two others in Sheikh Zayed and New Cairo. But the Alexandria location signals a clear intent: getting closer to customers in the Delta region and coastal cities. Visitors can explore the latest models and receive technical consultations under the company's quality standards. The facility is designed to make the brand more accessible.
Rapid Growth in the Local Market
The numbers tell a compelling story. BYD launched eight new models in just 146 days. That pace is unusually fast by Egyptian market standards. A new model arrived roughly every 18 days. The strategy is simple: offer variety to capture different customer segments, from family vehicles to budget-friendly options. The market is clearly responding to the Chinese automaker's push.
Operating hours are customer-friendly. The new center welcomes visitors Saturday through Thursday from 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM. On Friday from 2:00 PM to 10:00 PM. But what about after-sales service? BYD has set up two authorized service centers. One is on the Mishwar Tantawy axis – Fuel Up station in New Cairo. The other sits at kilometer 28 on the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road in Abu Rowash, Giza. Both service centers operate Saturday through Thursday, from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Investment continues. BYD keeps pouring resources into improving the customer experience, from sales points to after-sales support. Rising demand for its vehicles is accelerating expansion plans. What comes next might be even bigger.
