BYD has achieved a remarkable milestone in the Egyptian automotive market, with its official distributor Man Dream announcing the delivery of more than 2,000 vehicles in under five months. According to the official statement, the company achieved this feat just 146 days after its official launch, securing the top spot in local new energy vehicle sales, a category that includes fully electric cars and hybrids.

20% Market Share and Extensive Test Drives

During this brief period, Man Dream captured a 20% market share of all new energy vehicle sales in Egypt. Beyond the impressive sales figures, the company also conducted over 2,500 test drives for potential customers. These sessions played a key role in familiarizing Egyptian drivers with electric and hybrid technologies, helping build confidence in these advanced and relatively new powertrain options in the local market.

A Diverse Lineup of 8 Electric and Hybrid Models

Since entering Egypt, BYD has introduced a wide range of models to suit different customer needs. The available lineup includes: the electric Dolphin Surf EV, the electric and hybrid DMi versions of the Sealion 6, the Sealion 5 hybrid DMi, the Ti7 DMi hybrid, as well as larger models like the Atto 8 and M9 hybrids, and the Shark 6 pickup truck.

Raising Awareness and Expanding Service Network

Beyond sales, the distributor has also focused on promoting awareness of new energy vehicles among future generations, hosting over 1,000 students in educational experiences during this period. As part of its expansion strategy, BYD and Man Dream plan to open 20 technology centers and 7 comprehensive service centers across Egypt by the end of this year, strengthening the infrastructure needed to support electric vehicles and enhance customer service.
