Strategic Partnership Between Al-Nasr and China's FAW Car to Manufacture Cars Under Egyptian Brand
Egypt's Prime Minister, Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, witnessed today the signing of a strategic partnership agreement between Al-Nasr Automotive Company and China's FAW Car Group. The deal aims to manufacture a range of vehicles under the Egyptian brand 'Nasr,' focusing on transferring modern technology, increasing local component content, and strengthening Egypt's position as a regional hub for automotive manufacturing.
The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Hussein Issa, Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs. The agreement was signed by Engineer Mohamed El-Saadawi, Chairman and Managing Director of the Metallurgical Industries Holding Company; Dr. Nabil Mohamed Hammad, Managing Director of Al-Nasr Automotive Company; Liu Zong Chen, Chairman of FAW Car Group; and Yang Shao Fu, Head of International Operations at the group.
Engineer El-Saadawi emphasized that this partnership is the result of extensive discussions and coordination between both sides. He noted that it reflects mutual trust and a shared desire for long-term cooperation, which will help transfer the latest automotive technology to Egypt, raise local content ratios, and support national efforts to revive the domestic auto industry while boosting its competitiveness in local and regional markets.
Dr. Nabil Mohamed Hammad explained that the partnership will support Al-Nasr's plans to deliver high-quality vehicles under the Egyptian 'Nasr' brand, adhering to the latest global standards. He added that this will meet local market demands and open new horizons for expansion into regional and international markets, increasing export opportunities.
Hammad further described the partnership as a successful model of collaboration between national companies and global industrial institutions, embodying both sides' commitment to industrial development and enhancing Egypt's status as a regional automotive hub.
Officials from both companies expressed their appreciation for the Egyptian government's support for the industrial sector. They affirmed that the agreement represents a qualitative step toward building an advanced national automotive industry based on modern technology and the highest quality and efficiency standards. This, they said, will add value to the Egyptian economy and support sustainable development goals.
