Youssef El Husseiny Slams Car Bloggers: Most Are 'Fakes' With No Real Technical Knowledge
Egyptian host Youssef El Husseiny sharply criticized a large segment of car bloggers, describing most as 'fakes' lacking the technical and mechanical knowledge needed to review vehicles. On his Nogoum FM show, he noted that some suddenly become experts without real experience, benefiting from dealer trips and perks. He made exceptions for truly knowledgeable creators with authentic experience at major companies. The core problem, he says, is the growing number of non-specialists harming content quality.
Egyptian media personality Youssef El Husseiny launched a scathing attack on a large segment of car content creators, labeling the majority as 'fakes' who lack even the most basic technical understanding. He stated that the recent trend of car reviewing has pushed unqualified individuals to present themselves to the public as field experts.
Sudden Transformation Into Experts
Speaking on his show 'Horouf El Gar' on Nogoum FM, El Husseiny explained that some people suddenly transform into car evaluation specialists despite having no grasp of mechanical or technical details. He pointed out that the total knowledge these individuals possess often amounts to no more than 'a couple of words from the dealer', reflecting the superficial nature of the content they produce.
The criticism did not stop at the lack of information. El Husseiny revealed that when these bloggers gain the approval of car dealers, they are treated to sponsored trips and test-drive events abroad, complete with travel, accommodation. Meals, alongside financial compensation. All of this happens without the creators possessing any genuine expertise that would qualify them to assess vehicles in a specialized and professional manner.
Exceptions in the Automotive Media Scene
Yet, El Husseiny was careful to single out a group of bloggers and specialists who do things right, affirming that among them are people who are 'very, very knowledgeable' about what they present. He clarified that these individuals have genuine experience with major car manufacturers, producing content built on real-world knowledge and actual testing rather than guesswork.
The real issue, according to the show host, lies in the widening pool of non-specialists invading this vital field. He stressed that a significant number of automotive content creators lack the sufficient mechanical and technical know-how required to make accurate judgments about vehicles — a trend that harms the credibility of specialized content and misleads the average viewer seeking reliable information before making a purchase decision.
