Used Car Market Rebounds as Lower Dollar Rate and Regional Stability Push Prices Down
The used car market has begun to regain momentum as the decline in the US dollar exchange rate and improving regional stability reshape buying and selling conditions. These developments have encouraged many vehicle owners to lower asking prices and move away from inflated valuations that had dominated the market for months, while many buyers had postponed purchasing decisions in anticipation of more favorable pricing.
Key Factors Behind the Market Recovery
Used car dealers said that the recent decline in the dollar's value, combined with greater regional stability, has played a major role in gradually restoring market activity. They expect the recovery to continue in the coming period as more sellers adjust their pricing strategies and buyers return with increased confidence.
According to car dealer Fadel Mahmoud, the recent drop in the dollar exchange rate has significantly improved overall market movement. He explained that the weaker foreign currency encouraged a large number of vehicle owners to reprice their cars at more reasonable levels. He added that regional stability has also contributed to attracting more serious buyers, allowing vehicle sales to recover gradually.
More Competitive Pricing Expected
Mahmoud noted that excessive pricing in the used car market has declined by approximately 60%, particularly following the decrease in the dollar exchange rate and the stabilization of regional conditions. He also explained that buyers have become more informed, comparing multiple vehicles before making a purchase while evaluating used car prices against new vehicle prices. This has forced sellers to offer more competitive prices, with fairly priced vehicles selling more quickly.
He also expects used car prices to continue easing over the coming weeks if the dollar remains on its downward trend and regional stability is maintained. Under those conditions, sales volumes are projected to increase gradually as exaggerated pricing continues to fade and the market returns to more realistic price levels, supporting a healthier and more balanced used car market.
