The US dollar exchange rate experienced relative stability against the Egyptian pound at the close of Thursday's trading session, across major banks operating in the local market. This calm comes as market participants closely monitor any potential movements in the American currency in the coming period, particularly amid ongoing local and global economic trends affecting currency performance.

Dollar Rates at Major Banks

The dollar price at the National Bank of Egypt recorded approximately 49.51 EGP for buying and 49.61 EGP for selling, while at Banque Misr it stood at 49.53 EGP for buying and 49.63 EGP for selling. At Bank of Alexandria, the rate settled at 49.52 EGP for buying and 49.62 EGP for selling. The Commercial International Bank (CIB) also recorded rates of 49.5 EGP for buying and 49.6 EGP for selling.

Market Outlook for the Coming Period

Traders in the foreign exchange market are anticipating any new changes that may arise from the Central Bank of Egypt's policies or global economic developments. This relative stability reflects a temporary balance between supply and demand for the US currency, as banks continue to apply free market mechanisms to determine exchange rates. The market remains in a state of anticipation for dollar movements in the coming days, especially with approaching deadlines for external debt repayments or new investment inflows.
