Top-Selling New Cars in Egypt for 2026 Revealed
American research firm Focus2Move has released its list of the best-selling new cars in Egypt for the first half of 2026, based on data from the global automotive statistics agency GAD. The Egyptian market recorded a 40.5% growth during this period, with total sales reaching 102,118 vehicles across all categories. Economic recovery during the 2024/2025 fiscal year drove this performance.
Locally Assembled Cars Dominate the Market
Locally assembled vehicles continue to lead sales in Egypt, with three models bearing the "Made in Egypt" badge topping the list. The Nissan Sunny family sedan claimed the first spot with an 11.7% market share and a 48.3% annual growth rate. This marks the second consecutive year the model has led the rankings.
The 2027 Nissan Sunny is available in three trims, with official prices starting at EGP 765,000 for the Base A/T version and EGP 800,000 for the Mid A/T. The top-spec Super Salon trim is priced at EGP 835,000. Nissan prices remain relatively stable compared to other segments.
Chevrolet T-Series Secures Second Place
The Chevrolet T-Series, famously known as "El Dabbaba" in Egypt, took the second spot with 30% growth and a 9.1% market share. This commercial vehicle comes in two versions, starting at EGP 1.05 million for the Box trim and reaching EGP 1.15 million for the air-conditioned variant. Demand for commercial vehicles in Egypt is clearly on the rise.
Third place went to the Hyundai Elantra AD, another locally assembled model that has maintained strong popularity among Egyptian buyers. The 1.6-liter engine offers a practical balance of performance and fuel efficiency, making it a solid choice for daily commuting. Competitive pricing continues to attract families looking for value.
These results confirm that locally assembled cars remain the top choice for Egyptian consumers, supported by improving market conditions. Hyundai keeps expanding its lineup, while Chevrolet retains a strong customer base through its practical and durable offerings.
