Top Chinese Car Brands in Egypt for August 2026: MG Leads, Market Shifts

MG dominated Chinese car sales in Egypt during August 2026 with 2,326 vehicles, up from 1,889 in July — a 23% increase. The number puts it firmly on top. The Egyptian Compulsory Motor Vehicle Insurance Pool released the data, revealing notable shifts in the Chinese automotive segment.

Monthly Sales: Who Gained and Who Slipped?

Chery took second place with 1,816 cars, rising from 1,646 in July for a 10% gain. Jetour followed in third with 1,696 vehicles, up 16% month-on-month. But Soueast fell to 930 cars from 1,209, a 23% drop. Meanwhile, Changan jumped to 834 vehicles from 627, a 33% surge.

Haval posted 651 cars versus 564 in July, up 15%. Geely slid to 463 from 649, down 29%. BYD also dipped to 451 from 539, a 16% decline. Forthing sold 331 cars, Depal 243, BAIC 161, and Kaiyi 140. The numbers expose sharp contrasts in brand performance.

Cumulative Performance: Who Rules 2026?

From January to August 2026, MG held the top spot with 14,222 cars. Chery came second with over 12,000 vehicles, followed by Jetour with more than 10,000. Soueast sold 7,488 cars, and Changan over 5,000. Geely hit over 4,000, BAIC over 3,400. BYD moved more than 3,300 vehicles, Haval over 2,500, and GAC over 1,900.

These figures reflect mounting competition in Egypt's Chinese car market, with MG prices and Chery leading volume. As some brands keep growing, others face pressure on market share. Can MG hold the crown through year-end?
